The Roanoke City Democratic Committee Has Reorganized!
Our reorganization caucus was held on Saturday, January 6. We are pleased to announce that most precincts in the city now have precinct captains, though there are some vacancies. New officers were elected, including Mark Lazar, chair, Manuel Dotson, 1st vice-chair, Lorena Wilson, 2nd vice-chair, Sarah Pendergraph, secretary and Lindsey Brinkman, treasurer. New members can be elected at any upcoming meeting, beginning with the January meeting at 7 p.m. on January 18. Please keep in mind that all voting committee members have responsibilities, and are expected to be active. At the January 18 meeting, we will elect chairs of our four standing subcommittees, including Ways and Means, Outreach, Communications and Technology, and Candidate Recruitment and Elections. To be considered for those positions, candidates must email the chair (chair@roanokedemocrats.com), prior to the committee meeting. As of now, the January meeting will likely be virtual. Watch for an upcoming announcement that will include a Zoom link.
